Neck PainNeck Pain can be caused by a slipped or herniated disc. A herniated disc is like a jelly donut where the jelly leaks out and presses against a nerve that goes on to other parts of of the body. Symptoms often include pain, numbness, tingling, burning, weakness or combinations of these sensations down the course of the nerve. When this occurs, the person is usually quite specific about where the pain is traveling such as.... It goes down my arm to my 4th or 5th finger....

Some causes of your pain could be from a slip and fall, car accident or sports related injuries. There may be many other causes to your pain such as natural aging and the 'wearing' out process of the disk or joints. The key to pain management is locating the positions of pain versus pain relief. Treatment considerations may include an exercise instruction, physical therapy modalities, the use of ice, re-adjustment or nutritional considerations.
